Austin Musician-Artists Market

Austin Musician-Artists Market

A new way to help our Austin-based musicians continue to make their living through their art! Here you'll meet working musicians who live in Austin, selling works of art that they have created themselves, and keeping 100% of their sales. The producers are donating their time, the venue is donating the space and the artists are not charged to participate. We're doing this to support our Austin musicians! Please join us!

Happy spring to the best client base in the planet! Just thought I would give you a short update...Christy Chavez is on her way to LA. Her husband got transferred and he will soon start work on a team working on LAX. We will sorely miss our Christy girl!!...Jesus Orosco joined our team at SXSW time. He is a super barber and a really nice guy and does a really great job with all hair types and styles! ...Russell Firestone started with us in January. Again a super nice guy and very meticulous barber! ...Of course, I am so greatful to the core team of Bri Bielz, Parker James, Ryan Vidotto, (and me) for holding down the fort so well during the transitions. We have a truly special team. ...One more thing, the BarBar is moving along and we are planning the opening festivities. Will keep you posted:)

I apologize for any confusion resulting from our price change. I realized that there were still a couple of places the old price was reflected when services were combined. Hopefully I have found them all and corrected them. If you see something that is not listed correctly, please let me know....Thanks, Debbie

I hope this gets a huge turnout!!!

The Good Life Barber Shop will have very limited hours and availability during SXSW Music Week. Bri and Parker will be working Tuesday and Wednesday for sure (9 ish to 4 ish) on a walk in basis. They will more than likely work Thursday also but they are playing that by ear. They will put out the barber pole when the shop is open.

The Good Life crew is taking a break this week. We have a tradition of closing between Christmas and New Years. We will be ready to let the clippers fly on January 4, 2016. These are pictures of the Vidotto/Munn house on Christmas Eve. The luminarias blessing our driveway are a big New Mexico holiday tradition as well as the amazing New Mexican feast that Ryan's wife Mandy prepared for us❤️

Happy 9th Anniversary to The Good Life Barber Shop, October 19, 2006 our first client was Blane Vidotto (11 months old) our first paying client was Mike Craig!!! A big thanks to the great crew and amazing client base we have now!!! 2016 will be the best yet!!!

We are very happy to celebrate Briana Bielz being with the Good Life Barber Shop family for a year on July 31st!!! Thanks for being such a great barber a such a wonderful team player. Bri, you are a pleasure!!

Scheduling with the Good Life could get a little tricky as Nick Geiser has decided to move on to another shop. Ryan, Bri and Debbie will be working extra hours to help with scheduling. We ask our regulars to schedule early to be sure to get a time you choose. We also thank you all in advance for your patients and continued support. We have the best clients on the planet!

The Good Life Barber Shop did not have any problems with flooding (thank goodness). Thanks to everyone who has checked on us. We are open for business as usual:) Debbie

The Good Life Email was hacked last night!!! Don't be stupid like me and open anything that says it is a message from me and give it your google password!!! Sorry everyone.

News Flash!! Austin is growing in leaps and bounds! As a result, our area is congested and street parking is next to nonexistent. We have negotiated a deal at the Littlefield/Scarborough building and will now offer FREE one hour parking in the garage on the west side of Brazos between 5th and 6th. The process is, pull a ticket when you enter the garage then get a validated ticket from us to swipe as you leave. Parking in the garage is tight too so if you see a street spot it will be easier, but at least you know the garage is available if needed. We sincerely thank all of our valued customers who have weathered all these growth storms with us!

Oh' another important announcement is that Ryan has made parking arrangements for $2 per hour parking. The process is this: pull a ticket in the Littlefield/ Scarborough parking garage on the west side of Brazos between 5th and 6th. Then while you are in the shop purchase a $2 ticket from us and scan it to get out of the garage. It seems to be working great for the guys who have used it.

Hi All, Just a bit of news...we just hired our 5th barber. Her name is Bri Bielz and she hit the floor cutting on Monday, July 28, 2014. Send a friend to her, Nick, or Dan.

SXSW time!!! Just a reminder that from now until after SXSW (March 17th), parking is going to get exponentially more difficult. If you must drive, come early. Otherwise, take public transit, get a drop off, or walk. Also, as usual we will be closing the while the music is here (12th thru 14th). Happy spring break and happy SXSW!

Happy Holidays! We will be open on Monday the 30th and the 31st for at least part of the day to do some New Year's Eve cuts. Just for the heck of it, tell us what you're doing for New Years.

Roy and Debbie had dinner at El Naranjo tonight. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We had beer and fundido on the happy hour menu and shared a pork dish (of which we brought 1/2 home) and our bill was less than $40.00. The food was tasty, interesting, and filling. We'll definitely go back!

Happily we welcome Nick Geiser to the shop. Nick started with us about a month ago. He is just what the shop doctor ordered...really loves barbering, has great skills, loves to shave, likes football and we all like him!!! Yea!!
